Samsung Teases Its Next-Generation Exynos 9 Processor

Samsung introduced its flagship Exynos 8 Octa 8890 14nm SoC more than a year ago. The Exynos 8 has been used in the last years Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones.


Samsung has posted a new teaser for the next generation Exynos 9 which is expected to power the Galaxy S8 series. The teaser says “Discover Cloud 9 With Exynos”, which is undoubtedly hinting at the Exynos 9.

The Exynos 9 will likely be used in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in most of the market including India, while some markets will get it’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. According to previous reports regarding the new generation, chips is said to be built using the 10nm FinFET process and is expected to combine with Samsung’s proprietary M2 CPU cores.

Addition to that it is also come with four stock ARM A53 cores and would be paired with the ARM Mali-G71 graphics unit. The company started the mass production of System-on-chip based on the 10nm FinFET process last October. The chipset is also expected to support smooth mobile VR experience.
