Uber is adding a new feature, apparently making it easier for you to request a ride for friends and family. Although, it was easier to request a ride for yourself, requesting a ride for someone else has required extra effort. Now, Uber is making it easy to request for someone other than yourself.

How To Request A Uber Ride For Others
Not everyone is capable of requesting an Uber for themselves, but rather limiting the reach the ride-hailing service has added a new feature to its latest version of its app. Here is how it works;
When you go to set a pickup away from your current location, you will be able to tell the app who will be riding by picking up a contact from your phone.- Once you confirm the ride, that person will receive a text message with the driver’s details and a web link to track the driver’s route.
- Both the rider and the driver will be able to contact one another just to make sure everything goes buttery smooth. (In order to maintain privacy, the rider’s number will not be made directly available to the driver.)

Not to forget, you will still have to pay for the ride using your saved payment details, unless you’re in a region where Uber accepts cash. This new feature is rolling out to users in the US today, along with 30 additional countries.
