Google Allo can now be accessed through your browser. Google has teased the web support for Allo months ago, and now as promised, Google has made it live with few important catches.

Google Allo For Web Is Live
The catches here are; you must have Allo on an Android phone in order to use the service on the web. Well, the iPhone support is “coming soon”. Second, Allo for web is supported by one browser at the moment, Google Chrome (of course).

Allo for web needs the app on the phone in order to run. There are a number of features missing from the web. Which includes the ability to connect/switch/remove Google accounts, add or remove members from the group, back up info, change privacy and notification settings and taking photos.
Getting Started With Google Allo For Web
You will need Google Chrome browser with the latest version of Google Allo running on your Android phone. Alright, here are few steps to connect your Google Allo app to your Chrome browser:
- Open Google Allo for web, on your computer.
- Open Google Allo app, on your phone.
- Tap the Menu, then Allo for web and then can Scan QR code.
- Scan the QR code visible on Allo for web.
- When connected, Allo for web will open on the browser.

Google Allo for web only shows what’s on the Allo app on your phone. So, if your phone runs out of battery or if you exit the mobile app, Google Allo for web won’t work, basically, it’s not a standalone app. you can learn more about it on Google’s support page.
This is a big move for Allo, as it has struggled to catch the users, especially compared to its companion app, Google Duo. Duo currently has between 100,000,000 to 500,000,000 installs on Android, while Allo has between 10,000,000 to 50,000,000 on the platform.
