Google Assistant Can Now Tell You What Song Is Playing

Google introduced “What song is this” feature on the new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphone, which allowed Google Assistant to recognize songs without the need of a third-party app like Shazam or SoundHound.

Google Assistant – “What Song Is Playing”

Well after a much of rumors, this feature is finally coming to more Android devices (non-Pixel devices) through Google Assistant. According to reports, the rollout of the feature is slow, which clearly means that it may take some time to reach to all users.

The report also stated that the song recognition feature is currently available on selected Pixel devices. In case the Assistant app on your device isn’t recognizing music yet, it’s likely because the update hasn’t reached your device.

The song recognition feature will work after users ask the question. The search bar will search and show the result as cards. In addition to that, it will also offer users to play the searched song. Well, Google is yet to comment on it, we will have to wait for the confirmation before we tear it down further.
