Meizu has recently launched a new budget-oriented smartphone in India known as the Meizu M6. It is worth noting that, the Meizu M6 was launched in China around 6 months back. Well, the lower-end Honor 7A is also available in the similar price range as that of the Meizu M6. So here’s a comparison between Meizu M6 vs Honor 7A.

Meizu M6 Vs Honor 7A: Design And Display

Meizu M6 offers a minimal polycarbonate body with older design ergonomics. The smartphone has a physical button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner and controls navigation gestures. The Meizu M6 offers a display of 5.2-inch with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. These display specifications are pretty outdated.

Honor 7A has a pleasing and sleek design with the fingerprint sensor on the back. The smartphone is available in black, gold and blue color variants. There are two variants available for the Honor 7A, one with a dual camera setup and other with a single sensor. Honor 7A sports a 5.7-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display.

Meizu M6 Vs Honor 7A: Performance And Storage

Meizu M6 is powered by a decent MediaTek MT6750 processor which features eight cores and a clock speed of 1.5GHz. The smartphone can easily handle basic day-to-day tasks but may suffocate in more demanding multi-tasking and gaming sessions. Meizu M6 offers either 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage or 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. All this is backed up by a 3,070mAh battery.

Honor 7A is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. The smartphone can handle day to day tasks easily with moderate gaming performance. You can choose between either 2GB or 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage. Lastly, the storage can be further expanded to up to 256GB via external SD card.

Meizu M6 Vs Honor 7A: Camera

The Meizu M6 sports a single sensor on both front and back side. On the rear, the M6 includes a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture, while on the front it packs an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Both the front and the rear camera offer LED flash for better picture capture in a low-light scenario.

Honor 7A comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. You can also buy a base version with a 13-megapixel single rear camera. The primary sensor has an aperture of f/2.2 and delivers impressive results in bright light. You also get an 8MP front-facing camera with front LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.

Meizu M6 Vs Honor 7A: Software

Meizu M6 Runs on Flyme UI 6.0 custom skin which is based on Android 7.0 nougat. On the other hand, Honor 7A runs on EMUI 8.0 which is based on Android version 8.0 Oreo. These skins consume a considerable amount of resources, but they offer additional features and allows easier customization. If blotted UI and icons annoy you, installing a third-party launcher might be a good idea.

Meizu M6 will retail in India for a price of Rs. 7699. While the Honor 7A can be bought from Flipkart for a price of about for Rs. 8999 and Rs. 9999 based on RAM, storage and camera differences.

As a conclusion, both these smartphone are good for the price. The Meizu M6 definitely lags behind in terms of price to performance ratio.
