The major highlight of the Android One devices is faster and regular security and OS updates as compared to other Android smartphones. Well, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is a popular Android One smartphone that may receive Android 9 Pie update in Q4,2018. So here’s how you can become a beta tester for the Android 9 Pie on the Xiaomi Mi A2.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Vs Redmi Note 5 Pro

Xiaomi has opened up registrations for the beta program for the Mi A2 on Xiaomi’s official website i.e. Mi.com. That said, Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned details of the program, but the Chinese manufacturer claims to roll out a special OTA update dedicated to the testers. The list of these selected testers will be revealed on 2nd September. The registration for this program is open till August 31.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Beta Tester Selection Criteria

Xiaomi will follow these rules and regulations while selecting the beta tester for the Xiaomi Mi A2 Android 9 Pie program.

  • Mi Community ranking/title should be ‘Advanced Bunny’ at least.
  • An active member of Mi Community, India.
  • Should follow the rules of Mi Community & not leak the ROM provided to him/her during beta testing.
  • Should not post anything related to the beta team on Social Media, in other community section or elsewhere
  • Should have a thorough knowledge of Android.
  • Being a special team member includes few major responsibilities which he/she needs to follow.
  • Telegram User ID is must so update your profile on Mi Community. All the related discussions regarding OTA and bugs will happen only in telegram group.

As far as perks are concerned selected members will get Special OTA update permission.  These selected users will also be getting access to a special OTA group called ‘Mi A2 Beta Testers’.
