Xiaomi has been teasing its second-gen gaming smartphone – Black Shark 2, which will directly compete with Razer Phone 2 and ASUS ROG phone. Although Black Shark (first-gen) never made its way outside of China, but the second gen is expected to go international.
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Rumor Mill
Around the teaser and leaks, a new report popped reporting that this Black Shark 2 will not be called BlackShark 2, but Xiaomi Black Shark Helo. Why “Helo”? well, we believe that this version (Black Shark 2) probably a minimal update on specs over the original.
The possibilities are that Xiaomi might update the specs and would introduce to the global market, which it didn’t with the Black Shark (was exclusive to China). This might bring this phone to a lot of potential customers without the “2” on the name.
Coming to the specifications, the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is rumoured to be packing a 6-inch FHD+ 18:9 display, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, paired with 8GB RAM, running on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is speculated to be backed by 4,000mAh battery.
The main difference over the original Black Shark is that the Helo model will come with a redesigned rear panel with a LED lighting. The Black Shark Helo will be announced tomorrow i.e on October 23 in China and later to other parts of the world sometime in November.
